Essential Lifting Tools for BETONBLOCK® Barriers

For the installation and movement of concrete barriers, BETONBLOCK® offers a range of lifting tools designed to simplify and accelerate your work processes. Our lifting tools ensure a safe and efficient approach when handling barriers, regardless of their weight or size.

Lifting Tools for Barriers

  1. Concrete Block Anchor Magnets (2.5T & 5T): Our magnets allow ball head anchors to be cast into the barriers, enabling the barriers to be lifted with these anchors. Available in 2.5T and 5T variants to meet your project needs.
  2. Concrete Block Anchor Rubber Sleeves (2.5T & 5T): These rubber sleeves create space around the head of the ball head anchors, allowing the lifting hook to be safely and correctly used to lift the barrier. Available for both 2.5T and 5T applications.
  3. Ball Head Anchors (2.5T & 5T): Essential for creating a solid lifting point on your barriers, our ball head anchors are the foundation of the lifting process. Both 2.5T and 5T versions are available to meet the specifications of your barriers.
  4. Concrete Block Universal Lifting Hooks (2.5T & 5T): For ultimate convenience and safety during lifting, our universal lifting hooks provide a reliable connection with ball head anchors. Available in 2.5T and 5T to meet your lifting needs.

Why Choose BETONBLOCK® Lifting Tools?

  1. Versatility: Our lifting tools are suitable for a wide range of barrier projects, from temporary road closures to permanent constructions.

Frequently asked questions about lifting equipment for concrete barriers

For the safe handling and positioning of concrete barriers, Betonblock® offers various lifting products and compatible accessories. The system includes spherical-head anchors, anchor magnets, rubber grommets and universal lifting hooks. These components are available in 2.5T and 5T versions. The appropriate lifting system depends on factors such as the weight and dimensions of the barrier, the number of lifting points and the way the barrier will be lifted. Below, we answer the most frequently asked questions about lifting equipment for concrete barriers.

What is the difference between the 2.5T and 5T versions of the lifting equipment?

The main difference is the load class for which the components of the lifting system are designed. Betonblock® offers spherical-head anchors, anchor magnets, rubber grommets and universal lifting hooks in 2.5T and 5T versions. The appropriate version should be selected according to the barrier, the load on each lifting point and the complete lifting configuration. Always use components as a compatible system and do not combine parts with different load classes without first checking their suitability.

How do I choose the right lifting equipment for my concrete barrier?

When choosing the right lifting equipment, you should consider more than just the total weight of the barrier. The dimensions, shape, position of the lifting points, number of anchors and distribution of the load during lifting are also important. The spherical-head anchors, lifting hooks and other components of the system must also be compatible with one another. If you are unsure whether a 2.5T or 5T system is suitable for your barrier, have the lifting configuration assessed beforehand or contact Betonblock® for advice.

How do I attach lifting equipment to a concrete barrier?

The lifting point is prepared during production of the barrier. An anchor magnet is positioned in the mould, after which a rubber grommet and the corresponding spherical-head anchor are fitted. The anchor is then cast into the concrete. The rubber grommet creates sufficient space around the head of the anchor. Once the concrete has cured sufficiently, a compatible universal lifting hook can be connected to the cast-in spherical-head anchor to lift the barrier. Always follow the instructions for the lifting system being used and inspect the lifting points and equipment before use.

How many lifting points or anchors do I need in my barrier for safe lifting?

The required number of lifting points cannot be determined solely by the length or total weight of a barrier. Factors such as the shape and centre of gravity of the barrier, the position of the anchors, the strength and curing of the concrete, lifting angles and the distribution of the load across the lifting points must also be considered. The number and position of the spherical-head anchors should therefore be determined in advance for the specific barrier and lifting method. If in doubt, do not rely on a general rule of thumb; have the correct lifting configuration determined by a qualified specialist or contact Betonblock® for advice.

Can I use lifting equipment intended for concrete blocks with barriers, or vice versa?

Some Betonblock® lifting products, including spherical-head anchors, anchor magnets, rubber grommets and universal lifting hooks, can be used with different types of concrete elements. However, this does not mean that every lifting product is automatically suitable for every barrier or concrete block. Always check that the component is compatible with the anchor system and suitable for the load, shape and lifting configuration of the concrete element. For example, do not use a concrete block clamp for a barrier unless it is specifically approved for that application. If you are unsure whether lifting equipment can be used interchangeably, check with Betonblock® beforehand.

Which accessories are needed in addition to the lifting equipment?

A lifting system with cast-in spherical-head anchors requires several compatible components. Betonblock® offers spherical-head anchors, anchor magnets, rubber grommets and universal lifting hooks in 2.5T and 5T versions. The anchor magnet is used to hold the spherical-head anchor in the correct position in the mould during casting, while the rubber grommet creates the necessary space around the anchor head so that the lifting hook can be attached after curing. Depending on the chosen lifting method, suitable lifting chains or other lifting equipment may also be required. Always check that all components in the complete lifting configuration are compatible with one another and suitable for the intended load.
