Where can you buy demoulding oil or concrete oil?

You know Betonblock® for its high-quality concrete moulds and partition walls, but did you know that you can also come to us for everything you need during concrete production? From immersion vibrators to a concrete mixing bucket and even a casting table, you will find it all in our range. We would also like to tell you about one of our lesser-known but certainly not unimportant products: release agent (an oil-based coating).

At Betonblock® you will find demoulding oil. This is a mineral concrete oil that reacts with the substances in cement and concrete. The difference between demoulding oil and formwork oil is that formwork oil is mixed with water before you spray your concrete mould with the concrete oil.

Have you ever read our handy step-by-step plan? Even if you haven’t, you probably know how to cast concrete blocks. It is important to always apply an oil-based coating to the inside of a concrete mould. This prevents the concrete from sticking to the mould as it hardens, which would cause your concrete block to break when you take the mould apart. What many people don’t know, however, is that at Betonblock® we also supply demoulding oil and an oil pump. If you order these together with your new concrete moulds, you save on delivery costs, a benefit that quickly adds up.

Demoulding oil ensures that the concrete does not stick to your concrete mould while it hardens. If you do not use concrete oil, you run the risk of your concrete blocks breaking when you open the mould. In addition, your mould will rust more quickly and, without oil, it will not remain clean, meaning you will need to clean it thoroughly before you can cast a new concrete block.

One litre of our demoulding oil covers 30 to 50 square metres, and one jerrycan contains twenty litres. A jerrycan of demoulding oil is therefore sufficient to cover at least 600 m². The surface area of the inside of our 160.80.80 mould is just under 4 m², and that of our 180.60.60 mould is just under 3 m². With one 20-litre jerrycan, you can therefore coat 150 to 200 moulds with oil.

To apply concrete oil to a mould, you need an oil pump. For this as well, Betonblock® is the right place to be. Our extra-robust oil pump has a capacity of 24 litres. You only need to pressurise a full pump once using a compressor (between six and eight bar), after which you can easily treat multiple moulds with oil without having to pump manually. Our oil pump weighs 45 kg, but thanks to the convenient wheels on the underside, no special lifting equipment is required to move it. In addition, the spray gun is connected to the oil pump by a 6-metre spiral hose, meaning the oil pump does not need to be moved constantly.

Our concrete moulds are extremely popular. However, fewer people know that we also supply the other equipment you need during concrete production. Still, it is advantageous to purchase concrete block moulds, accessories and supplies from the same supplier, as all products are then delivered at the same time. This allows you to save on delivery costs and also contributes to a better environment, because delivering fewer separate shipments results in lower CO₂ emissions. Moreover, all of our products are designed to work together. Our demoulding oil is perfectly suited for all of our concrete moulds, ensuring they last longer and rust less quickly.
