How does stacking with concrete blocks work?

The blocks feature studs and recesses, just like the well-known plastic toy bricks, allowing them to fit together perfectly without the need for bonding material. This means you only need the right lifting and hoisting equipment to build strong yet flexible structures.

How high can you stack concrete stacking blocks?

On average, concrete blocks can be stacked to a height of around 4 to 8 metres. That equals a maximum of 10 standard blocks stacked on top of each other. In some cases, however, it is possible to go even higher. When stacking blocks, it is always important to take various environmental factors into account.

What determines the maximum stacking height of concrete blocks?

The height to which you can stack concrete blocks depends on several factors, such as:

  1. Type and stability of the subsoil: a stable, level surface can support greater stacking heights.
  2. Lateral forces: for example due to wind load or pressure from adjacent structures. This can be mitigated by using the correct stacking method.
  3. Block size and weight: larger and heavier blocks provide more stability, but can also create higher loads.
  4. Stacking method: the way the blocks are stacked, for example straight or in a bonded pattern, affects stability.
  5. Quality of the concrete: concrete mixed with the correct proportions of cement, sand, gravel and water results in strong, high-quality concrete.
