For the safe and efficient handling of concrete slabs, BETONBLOCK® offers various lifting solutions. The range includes a vacuum lifter, cast-in profiles with heights of 14 cm and 16 cm, and a matching lifting chain. Which solution is most suitable depends, among other things, on the concrete slab, its weight and the equipment available. Below, we answer the most frequently asked questions about lifting equipment for concrete slabs.
The right choice depends on the concrete slab and how you want to move it. BETONBLOCK® offers a vacuum lifter that can lift concrete slabs directly from the surface, as well as a system with a cast-in profile and lifting chain. The profile is embedded in the concrete slab during casting and can then be used together with the lifting chain. When making your choice, always take into account the weight, dimensions and desired method of moving the concrete slab.
A vacuum lifter is particularly practical when concrete slabs need to be lifted and laid directly from the surface. The BETONBLOCK® vacuum lifter can lift concrete slabs up to 1,700 kg. A cast-in profile with lifting chain is a practical solution when you want to incorporate a lifting point into the concrete slab during production. The lifting chain is connected to the cast-in profile, after which the concrete slab can be lifted and moved with a forklift.
BETONBLOCK® offers cast-in profiles in heights of 14 cm and 16 cm. The version you need depends on the thickness of the concrete slab and the concrete slab mould you use. For a slab that is 14 cm thick, use the matching 14 cm profile, and for a slab that is 16 cm thick, use the 16 cm version. Therefore, always check the slab thickness and the mould used before selecting the cast-in profile.
The cast-in profile is embedded in the correct position in the concrete slab during production. Once the concrete has hardened sufficiently, the matching BETONBLOCK® lifting chain can be attached to the profile. The concrete slab can then be lifted and moved with a forklift. Before every lifting operation, check that the profile, chain and connection are in good condition and suitable for the concrete slab concerned.
Yes. According to BETONBLOCK®, the vacuum lifter is also designed for handling concrete slabs that are not completely even. This allows the system to be used on different types of concrete surfaces. Whether a specific slab can be lifted safely does, however, depend on the actual surface and the vacuum that can be generated. Therefore, always check first that there is sufficient adhesion before fully lifting the concrete slab.
