For the maintenance and reliable use of retaining wall moulds, BETONBLOCK® offers various spare parts. The range includes wedges, tapered pins and a universal mould opener. These parts help to secure and open the mould and keep it functioning properly during successive production cycles. Below, we answer the most frequently asked questions about spare parts for retaining wall moulds.
Replace a part when you notice clear wear, deformation, damage or reduced performance. A wedge or pin must still be able to secure the mould reliably, while the universal opener must continue to support proper opening of the mould. Check these parts regularly and replace them in good time when they no longer perform their function correctly.
The wedge is used to secure and release the steel mould easily. The mould has special openings in which the wedge can be inserted to hold the different parts firmly together during concrete casting. Once the concrete has hardened sufficiently, the wedge can be released so that the mould can be opened and the retaining wall can be demoulded.
The universal opener, also known as the Key Opener, makes it easier to open the retaining wall mould manually after the concrete has hardened. The opener provides additional leverage, reducing the amount of force required to open the steel mould. This makes demoulding easier and allows the mould to be prepared more quickly for the next production cycle.
The tapered pin ensures that the different parts of the mould are securely connected and remain correctly positioned before concrete is poured. This keeps the mould stable while it is being filled with concrete. A correctly fitting and undamaged pin therefore contributes to reliable mould operation and a controlled production process.
Worn or missing wedges and pins can prevent the mould from closing securely or remaining correctly aligned. A damaged opener can make demoulding unnecessarily difficult. This can slow down the production process and place additional strain on other parts of the mould. By checking parts regularly and replacing them in good time, you help maintain the performance and service life of the retaining wall mould.
