A divider wall helps you get more out of a single concrete block mould. You can use the same mould to produce smaller concrete blocks and different shapes without needing a separate mould for every size. Below, you will find answers to frequently asked questions about choosing, installing and using BETONBLOCK® divider walls.
A divider wall allows you to divide a concrete block mould to produce smaller concrete blocks. This means you can use one large mould to make blocks in different sizes. Smaller blocks are useful, for example, at the end of a wall or in places where a full-sized concrete block will not fit. This makes your existing concrete block mould more versatile and reduces the number of different moulds you need.
Before pouring the concrete, position the divider wall at the desired location inside the concrete block mould and secure it firmly using the supplied bolts and nuts at the pre-drilled mounting points. A divider wall reduces the size of the mould, allowing you to produce concrete blocks in different lengths.
Before pouring, check that the divider wall is correctly and securely attached. Apply a suitable release agent to the divider wall, just as you would to the concrete block mould. This makes it easier to remove the concrete block from the mould after curing.
The correct size depends on the dimensions of your concrete block mould. The divider wall dimensions must match the internal dimensions of the relevant mould. Always check which divider wall is suitable for your mould and desired block size before making your selection. For a 160x80x80 mould, you can use an 80x80 cm divider wall. Please note: if you also use a top plate / Flat Top plate in the mould together with a divider wall, choose the 60x59.5 cm divider wall (yellow).
BETONBLOCK® offers divider walls in various sizes and designs.
In addition to standard divider walls, options include Slope, Stairs and Flat Top inserts. These allow you to adjust not only the length of the concrete block but also to produce different shapes and finishes. The most suitable design depends on the block you want to make and the concrete block mould you use.
Not every divider wall is automatically suitable for every concrete block mould. The dimensions and design of the divider wall must match the mould in which you intend to use it. Always choose a divider wall that is suitable for the dimensions and type of concrete block mould in question. If you are unsure, BETONBLOCK® can help you choose the right combination.
Divider walls are available in different designs, allowing you to produce specific shapes and finishes. If you want to use both a top plate and a divider wall, choose a divider wall that is 0.5 cm smaller. This applies to the following sizes:
Examples include Flat Top, Slope and Stairs designs. Depending on the concrete block you want to produce, a top plate or another suitable accessory may also be required. Make sure that the divider wall, mould and any top plate are compatible with the shape you want to produce.
Installing and removing a divider wall adds an extra step to the production process. However, it allows you to produce different block sizes using the same concrete block mould without having to switch to another mould each time. Especially if you regularly produce different sizes or want to use leftover concrete, a divider wall can make the production process more flexible and efficient.
All the necessary fasteners for a divider wall are supplied. It is also advisable to use mould release oil so that the concrete can be removed more easily from both the mould and the divider wall. When preparing your production setup, always check which accessories are compatible with your chosen mould and divider wall.

Before pouring the concrete, position the divider wall at the desired location inside the concrete block mould and secure it firmly using the supplied bolts and nuts at the pre-drilled mounting points. Start with a clean concrete block mould and divider wall, and apply a suitable release agent before pouring the concrete. Once you have checked that everything is correctly positioned, you can fill the mould with concrete and compact the concrete as usual.
Only remove the divider wall once the concrete has cured sufficiently to retain its shape. Carefully loosen the divider wall without damaging the young concrete. Applying mould release oil before pouring helps prevent the concrete from sticking to the divider wall and makes removal easier. The appropriate time for removal depends, among other things, on the concrete mix used and the curing conditions.
