Inserting anchors

It is common to cast anchors into a concrete block in order to easily move the concrete block afterwards.

But how do you insert anchors? Here’s the entire process in clear steps, with photos to match!

Step 1:

Place the magnet in the center of the mould.

Step 2:

Place the rubber around the anchor.

Step 3:

Place the anchor with the rubber in the magnet.

Step 4:

The anchor is cast into the block (be careful when compacting the concrete).

Step 5:

When the mould is opened, the magnet stays behind in the mould and the anchor is embedded in the concrete.

Step 6:

Remove the rubber from the anchor.

Step 7:

You can only see the top of the anchor in the concrete block.

Step 8:

Attach the hooks to the anchors in the concrete block.

All done! The block is ready to be lifted.
